Opportunity

The Performance Engineer / .NET Developer career opportunity is for the CHO product development team within the Jonas/CSG organization and is responsible for leading the efforts to ensure stability, performance and scalability in an important suite of online services.

The Performance Engineer / .NET Developer will detect system bottlenecks and obtain an accurate picture of end to end system performance. The ideal candidate is experienced with software performance engineering; specifically working with tiered ASP.Net applications in a hosted, SaaS environment. You will be responsible for performance, scalability, load and stress testing CHO online services

You will collaborate with the development, operations and quality teams to ensure accurate performance plans and data collection. This will include establishing a performance baseline, selection and usage of automation tools for continuous performance measurements, conducting focused tuning iterations on new and existing features and ensuring scaling capabilities that meet the needs of the business under expected application load.

This person must have a strong attention to detail. This position will have the duties of both leading and playing an individual contributor role on the team. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the system remains stable and runs efficiently. You will help design future web applications and ensure the highest level of performance, scalability and customer satisfaction.

Reporting to the Manager of Web Development, the core responsibilities of the position are to:

• Refactor existing products to enhance stability, security and performance.
• Build a system dashboard to monitor performance counters.
• Be able to forecast and create a clear plan to ensure systems scale with continued growth.
  
  

Qualifications

This position requires varying degrees of expertise in:

• 5+ years of experience with performance tuning
• Bachelor degree in computer science, information systems or related field.
• Applied experience in performance and scalability analysis
• Applied experience with SQL Server Profiling and Windows Performance Monitor
• Applied experienced with .Net performance counters including the ability to create and utilize custom performance counters
• Experience with Windows Server, configuring and tuning IIS 6.0, ASP.NET and SQL Server
• Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with technical and non-technical staff across the entire company, including product managers, business management, leads and peers
• Application Experience
• Applied Experience in Microsoft Team Server/System
• Microsoft SQL Server / TSQL
• Visual Studio .NET 2005/2008 / Visual Source Safe
• Good understanding of web concepts, HTTP communications
