I was born and raised in a small town outside Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I moved to New England when I was eleven years old and have been here ever since. My family has since spread up and down the east coast from Florida to Massachusetts, and I currently live south of Worcester, Massachusetts in Webster. The town is known for its lake, as it is uniquely named by the Nipmuc Native Americans and called CHARGOGGAGOGGMANCHAUGGAUGGAGOGGCHAUBUNAGUNGAMAUGG. The lake is commonly called Webster Lake by visitors, as it can be a challenge to pronounce the actual name. My quest for a degree started in 1994, following graduation from high school. I attended the University of Hartford for two years before leaving for a position with my current company, Big Y Foods. Despite numerous attempts to continue my education, I have not succeeded over the years due to the challenges of maintaining a professional career and education. I hope that a fast paced, flexible learning environment will allow me to overcome my previous obstacles and obtain a degree. This will allow me to continue my success within my company as well as fulfill my personal goal of continuing my education.. When I obtained my first position in 1996, with Big Y Foods I was PC-Tech. I worked in that position for two years before obtaining my first promotion to the PC-Tech Lead. I consistently worked hard to grow with the company as needed and secured several promotions over the years.. I am currently the System Department Manager responsible for a large team of Developers and Project Managers. In addition, I guide the company to adopt the best technology solutions for each business unit and mentor my staff to do the same. My professional goal is to learn the appropriate skills for me to obtain the position of Vice President of Information Technology before the age of fifty. In order for me to achieve this goal, I must complete college courses and obtain a degree. In addition to working, I have a number of hobbies; one of my favorites is golfing. Unfortunately, New England weather is not conducive to a long golfing season. I also enjoy bike riding, darts, and playing cards. Occasionally, I am inspired to create new computer applications for cell phones. My hope is to one day create a unique marketable product and sell it for profit.
